Typically it is the complexity of the door system and how quickly it needs to be opened or closed is dependent upon the use of the hangar. For example, corporate or commercial use of an aircraft may require the doors (or only part of the doors) to be opened and closed many times during the day, and in a timely manner. But, in the case of an individual owner, the door may only open once or twice a month, so the speed of the door and access to the aircraft is not always time sensitive. More involved hangar door systems may have more motor operators and faster open/close speeds.
